Commercial and fleet accounts
Fleet, upfitter and OEM accounts with a signed Brandmotion account agreement follow that agreement first. Where the agreement doesn't cover something, the commercial policy applies, and after that the terms further down this page.
| Term | Commercial and fleet |
|---|---|
| Warranty | 2 years, unless your account agreement says otherwise |
| Returns | Within 30 days of delivery, unless your account agreement sets a shorter window |
| RMA ship window | 30 calendar days from the date the RMA is issued |
| Labor and downtime | Not covered on any account |
Returning product on a commercial account
- Include a packing slip with every return.
- Write the RMA number on the outside of the shipping box.
- Ship in a separate outer box, not the product box.
Replacing one part instead of the whole kit
When our support team has confirmed exactly which component failed, we can ship that part instead of pulling the whole kit off the vehicle. If the failed part isn't certain, the full kit comes back for testing.
Advance replacement
Qualified accounts may be able to get a replacement shipped before the defective unit comes back. It needs a credit card hold for the replacement value, and the defective unit has to reach us within 10 calendar days.
Batch failures and root cause analysis
If you're seeing repeat failures across a fleet, we'll run a root cause analysis on request. Scope, timing and any cost are agreed in writing before work starts, and you get a written report.
For the terms on your account, contact your Brandmotion account manager or call 734-619-1250 and press 1.
Limited warranty
Brandmotion warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty runs from the date the fleet customer bought the product, unless your account agreement sets a different start date.
| Product | Warranty period | Starts on |
|---|---|---|
| All product lines | 2 years | Date of purchase by the fleet customer |
| Accounts with a signed agreement | 2 years, or per the agreement | Per the agreement. See Commercial and fleet accounts |
What the warranty covers
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship that were present when the product was bought.
- Component failures under normal use and within the product's published specifications.
What it doesn't cover
- Damage from accident, misuse, neglect, unauthorized modification or repair.
- Damage from installation that doesn't follow Brandmotion's published install instructions.
- Damage from use outside the product's published electrical, temperature or environmental specifications.
- Cosmetic damage such as scratches and dents that don't affect how the product works.
- Products bought from an unauthorized reseller.
- Products without proof of purchase.
- Products bought after the product was discontinued.
- Labor and downtime. See Labor and downtime.
Where you bought it
The warranty covers products bought from Brandmotion or an authorized Brandmotion upfitter, distributor, dealer or installer, including systems installed by a body company as part of a build. Products bought from unauthorized sellers aren't covered.
Discontinued products
A product bought before it was discontinued keeps its full warranty from the original purchase date. If a discontinued product is defective and we can't repair or replace it with the same unit, we may replace it with a comparable current model.
Warranty registration
Products made on or after September 1, 2024 need to be registered using the warranty registration form. Products made before that date don't. Your purchase date, not your registration date, sets the warranty period, and a missing registration on its own won't stop a valid claim when you have proof of purchase.
How to make a warranty claim
- Open a support ticket, call support or email us.
- Send your proof of purchase, the part number and serial number, and a description of what's wrong.
- We'll confirm whether the product is covered. If it is, we'll send you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
- Ship the product to us following Shipping a return to us.
- Once we confirm the defect, we'll repair or replace the product at no charge, or issue a credit.
Replacing one part instead of the whole kit
When our support team has confirmed exactly which component failed, we may send that replacement part instead of having you return the whole kit. If we can't be certain which part failed, the full kit comes back for testing. Our support team decides which applies. A replacement part carries the remaining warranty of the original system.
Labor and downtime
The warranty covers the product itself. It doesn't cover installation, removal or reinstallation labor, diagnostic or troubleshooting time, vehicle downtime, lost revenue, or travel and service-call charges, no matter who does the work.
Returns
You can return a product you bought directly from Brandmotion within 30 days of delivery, unless your account agreement sets a shorter window. You'll need your proof of purchase, and the product needs to be in its original condition. After 30 days, we can only take back a product with a confirmed defect, and that's handled as a warranty claim.
| Condition | What happens |
|---|---|
| New and unopened Factory sealed, not installed, packaging intact | Full refund or exchange. No restocking fee. |
| Opened but not used Not installed, no wear, all parts included | Refund or exchange, less a restocking fee. |
| Used or installed | Can't be returned. If it's defective and still under warranty, make a warranty claim. |
| Defective, under warranty | Handled as a warranty claim. The 30-day window doesn't apply. |
Check fitment before you install
Our catalog lists vehicle fitment "to current," so we can't guarantee every year, make and trim. Check that the product fits your vehicle before installing it, ideally within 15 days of delivery so there's time to return it inside the 30-day window. We can't take back a product once it's been installed. A product that doesn't fit and hasn't been installed can be returned as opened but not used.
Fees
| Fee | Amount |
|---|---|
| Restocking fee, opened but unused returns | Set by your account agreement. Distributor accounts without one: 25% of the net purchase price |
| Refused delivery of an order shipped as requested | $25 |
| Return shipping | Paid by the customer. We send a prepaid label when the problem is a defect we caused. |
| Original shipping charges | Not refunded |
Bought through an upfitter or dealer
If the system came through an upfitter, body company or dealer, a non-defective return goes back to them under their own terms. We can't issue an RMA for product another company sold. The warranty still applies for the full 2 years, and you can bring a warranty claim to us directly with proof of purchase.
Shipping a return to us
Every return needs an RMA number from Brandmotion before it ships. We can't accept a package without one.
- Ship within 30 calendar days of getting your RMA. After that the RMA is cancelled and you'll need a new one.
- Put the product, in its original box, inside a separate shipping box. Returns that arrive in the product box alone may be refused.
- Write the RMA number on the outside of the shipping box.
- Include every part, accessory and document that came with it, and a copy of your proof of purchase.
Ship to: Brandmotion LLC, 41100 Bridge St, Novi, MI 48375. Include your RMA number.
About this policy
This page summarizes Brandmotion's Commercial and Fleet Returns and Warranty Policy, Revision 2, effective September 1, 2026, and the standard terms it builds on. It replaces earlier versions. We review it every year. Exceptions need written approval from Brandmotion's General Manager or CEO. Products bought at retail follow Brandmotion's consumer warranty and return policy.
