Novi, Michigan, October 22, 2026

Our SurroundVUE™ 360 camera system passed ISO 16750-2 testing. We tested the complete system, the 360 monitor, all four cameras and the ultrasonic sensors, at two independent labs in Michigan. Every component passed.

What ISO 16750-2 tests

ISO 16750-2 is the international standard for how electronics in road vehicles hold up under electrical stress. Automakers and their suppliers use it as the common benchmark for electronic component durability.

Part 2 covers the electrical loads a vehicle's electrical system puts on anything connected to it: voltage drops, voltage fluctuations and load dump, the voltage spike that can surge through the system when a high-load device such as a battery or liftgate loses its connection or suddenly reduces its load on the charging system.

For a fleet, that translates into a camera system that keeps working through jump starts, battery swaps and the everyday wear of a hard-working truck.

What we tested, and where

Independent testing was conducted at TÜV SÜD in Plymouth, Michigan, and Applus+ Reliable Analysis in Madison Heights, Michigan. Rather than testing a single component, we sent the complete SurroundVUE 360 system:

the 360 monitor

all four cameras

the ultrasonic sensors

Both complete setups passed.

Why it matters

The result builds on years of investment in testing, process and people. Earlier this year we hired Justin Teems as Lead Systems Engineer, with responsibility for product quality across the line.

“We’ve reached our 20th year because we’ve earned and kept the trust of great customers. Our systems now protect drivers on some of the highest-profile fleets in the country, and that means we must keep raising our standards. Those customers deserve proof, not promises. Passing ISO 16750-2 on the complete system is that proof, and there’s more to come.”

— Jeff Varick, CEO, Brandmotion

Fleets and upfitters putting our systems into service should know they have been tested to the standard the industry uses. The validated SurroundVUE 360 camera system is shipping now.

We also shared the result on LinkedIn. Follow Brandmotion there for what comes next.

See the system

SurroundVUE 360 is the core of our fleet safety systems. If you run bucket trucks or service bodies, start with the utility packages, or estimate the return for your fleet.

About ISO 16750

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental body that develops international standards across industries. The ISO 16750 series defines the environmental conditions electronics face on or in road vehicles and the tests used to verify them. Part 2 addresses electrical loads such as voltage fluctuations and load dump.
